If I have learned anything during the course of my career, it is that with insurance companies, it will always be profit first. With Lloyd Injury Law, it will always be PEOPLE FIRST.
After practicing personal injury law for almost a decade on both national and international personal injury cases, I have purposely chosen to scale back to a solo practice. I am seeking to get back to basics, to develop relationships with my clients so that we can work together to find solutions to their problems, and feel like I am making a difference, rather than just moving cases through the process of claims resolution.
Unlike many attorneys, I did not always know I wanted to be a lawyer. In fact, after obtaining my undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington in anthropology and psychology, I still didn't know that the law was the career path for me. Out of necessity (thank you student loans), I took a job working for a local fortune 100 insurance company in a call center. Over the next few years, I worked my way up to a casualty claims adjuster responsible for managing and settling personal injury insurance claims.
Then the unexpected happened. My 17-year-old little brother, and two of his close friends, were severely injured in a motor vehicle accident. I sat on the sidelines as my parents, and the families of my brother's friends struggled through the complex claims processes the insurance companies have established to deter individuals from pursuing full and fair compensation for their claims. This process is intended to intimidate and force injured victims to settle their claims short, or face the terrifying prospect of litigation. I began to realize that the experience I had gained as an insurance adjuster could help victims navigate this process stacked against them and how important it is for injured victims to have access to knowledgeable and competent legal representation to battle these mega insurance companies with hoards of attorneys and unfathomable resources at their disposal.
PEOPLE FIRST. That is the motto of Lloyd Injury Law. My goal is to provide every client with an individualized experience, that is tailored to your specific needs, while still providing the high-quality legal services you deserve.
When push comes to shove, I will take the fight to the courts. I will not back down and let the insurance companies take advantage of injured victims. Most recently, I litigated the University of Washington marching band bus crash case all the way to a jury verdict, winning a combined 1.484 million dollars for my clients.
"The only source of knowledge is experience." - Albert Einstein
My past experience includes representing thousands of individual victims of motor vehicle accidents with settlements and judgments ranging from hundreds to millions of dollars. Additionally, I have represented clients in many high-profile cases internationally and throughout the United States with co-counsel including Charles Herrmann (internationally regarded aviation and personal injury attorney), Mark Lindquist (former elected Pierce County Prosecutor), Benjamin Crump (nationally recognized Civil Rights attorney), Jose Baez (experienced civil and criminal trial lawyer who has represented clients such as Aaron Hernandez, Casey Anthony, and Harvey Weinstein), and Jasmine Rand (Miami based civil litigation attorney who has represented the families of George Floyd and Treyvon Martin, in addition, to publicly speaking about equality and gender issues). For a sample of my past cases, please see my AVVO page for my full curriculum vitae.
On the personal side, I live near the Summit of Steven's Pass in Washington, with my husband, Colin, and daughter, Sierra. In my free time, I enjoy pursuing all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In the summers, I can be found sailing around the San Juan Islands, camping in Olympic National Park, or hiking the mountainous trails in the Cascade Mountains. In the winter, I will be skiing or snowshoeing near my home. I also have a passion for photography and am rarely seen without my camera on adventures with my family.
I hope you never have the need for a personal injury lawyer, but if you do, I look forward to meeting you!
